How often should you clean a shower curtain? In the ideal situation, this is once a month, but for many people this is a bit too much of a good thing. Therefore, wash your shower curtain completely once a quarter to keep it as hygienic as possible.

- Remove the shower curtain from the rings/hooks and place the shower curtain in the washing machine with two white towels. The white towels rub against the curtain in the wash; this ensures that the curtain gets more clean.
- Add a normal amount of detergent, about 100 grams of baking soda and a dash of white kitchen vinegar. So you don't necessarily have to use fabric softener.
- Set the washing program to a maximum of 40 degrees. Do not wash the shower curtain on a hotter setting; there is a good chance that it will melt and of course you want to prevent that.
- When the washing machine has finished washing, it is important to let the shower curtain dry thoroughly. Put this on the clothesline and absolutely did not in the dryer. There is a chance that the cloth will melt in your dryer and of course you want to prevent this!
Do you want to treat your shower curtain between washes for even more hygiene? Then fill a spray bottle halfway with water and half with white distilled vinegar. Spray this on your shower curtain after every shower and rub it in with a brush if necessary. Rinsing is not necessary, it is done automatically with the next shower.
