Does the ResQme work on all car windows?
The resqme is only effective against clear and tinted tempered glass. Tempered glass is widely used in car rear and side windows. The resqme does NOT work on laminated glass. Laminated windows commonly used for windshields can also be found on some car models. To see what your side windows are made of, look for the sticker on your side windows to see if it's labeled "tempered" glass. If you cannot find the sticker or if the information is not understandable, please contact your car manufacturer. In most cases, the side windows are suitable for use with the ResQme.

How do I know which type of glass is used for my car?
Most sunroofs and rear windows are tempered. To find out what kind of glass is in the side window of your car, you can look in the bottom corner. There may be a label that says 'hardened' or 'laminated'. If not, roll down the window and get a bird's eye view. If it's smooth and looks like one piece, it's tempered. If it looks like a ridged sandwich, it's laminated.

Is the ResQme reusable?

Yes, you can use the ResQme multiple times. The ResQme can also be used several times for cutting seat belts.

How can I test the ResQme?
If you are going to test the window breaker on a car window, you should wear safety gloves and goggles. Alternatively, you can test the window breaker on a hard surface such as a notepad or piece of wood. When the spring-loaded spike is released, you will hear a “click”. After you lift the tool again, another spring resets the spike so you can use it again. You will see a small dent where the tip of the nail touches the test surface. The seat belt cutter blade is very sharp and cuts through seat belts easily. Keep the belt strap taut and pull the tool toward you, cutting diagonally.

Can the pin accidentally pop out?
The resqme will not be activated by accident and cannot be activated while wearing it on your key ring, pocket or purse. To release the spring loaded pin, 6 pounds of force must be intentionally applied to the tool. Do not press the head of the tool against your fingers to test it. With enough force, the nail will dislodge and possibly cause personal injury.

Can the ResQme be taken on the plane?

Yes, the ResQme is not on the list of prohibited goods to take on a plane.
